The Federal High court sitting in Abuja has ordered the National Assembly to suspend their threat to take over legislative duties of the Edo State House of Assembly.
The presiding Judge, Justice Taiwo Taiwo on Wednesday gave the order at the resumed hearing of the case filled by Edo State government to challenge the directive made by the Senate and House of Representatives to the Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, to issue a fresh proclamation of the State's House of Assembly.
You will recall that the National Assembly threatened to take over legislative duties of the Edo State House of Assembly if the governor fails to issue fresh proclamation within three weeks.
However, Justice Taiwo ordered the parties involved in the case to maintain status quo pending when the case is determined.
