Senior Special Adviser to Rivers States Governor, Nyesom Wike, Oraye St. Franklin, has resigned his position.
Oraye St. Franklin was appointment and sworn in alongside his friends, on November 10, 2015, by the state governor, Nyesom Wike, at the River state government house in Port Harcourt.
In the wake of the controversial 2019 governorship election in Rivers state, Oraye Franklin, shared a CCTV video footage of the Nigerian soldiers invading the private residence of Rivers States commissioner of Education, Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja.
The video footage captured a horrific moment heavily armed soldiers were chasing and clamping down on people in and out of their house.
The video sparked serious outrage on all social media spaces, which later drew foreign attention.
The weighty evidence of the video made the PDP to come out public, and alleged that the Federal government through the minister of transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is using the military to hijack Rivers states electoral process, by arresting their high ranking party men.
He finally reinstated his commitment to continue to fight for the rule of law, while assuring that his intention was not to fight with @HQNigerian army.
His letter read thus: “The last four years were a period of great trials for all Rivers people as, indeed, it was of cherished accomplishments for the greatest number of our people on the strength of your sterling leadership. For me, it was a remarkable opportunity to stand in defense of my belief in democracy.
“I feel privileged to have been able to contribute modestly, in support of your patriotic stance for our people, at ensuring our dear Rivers State never became a conquered territory. "Your re-election was enunciated on the strength of our collective success and made effective ultimately by God’s grace.
“Having been part of our success story, I wish to now step down from my position as Senior Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Social Media.
People were of high expectation that haven shown such patriotism, both to his state, and to the seating governor, he'll be graced with a juicy official government position as appreciation. His reason for backing out is what we are yet to ascertain.

Soldiers of the @HQNigerianArmy accompany APC thugs to steal election result sheets from Polling Units in Akuku-Toru. Same location soldiers killed several people during the Presidential Election. Some days after releasing the shocking video, Mr. Oraye took to his twitter account and raised an alarm, stating that his life was under threat by the Nigerian army, who felt that Mr Oraye has bitten more than he can chew. This is what the @HQNigerianArmy has been reduced to by the @OfficialAPCNg. This is the invasion of the residence of Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja, Education Commissioner, Rivers State, by soldiers. #ElectionNotWar #NigeriaDecides2019 @KakaakiSocial @channelstv pic.twitter.com/EHsHypmW9n— Oraye St. Franklyn (@SaintOraye) March 8, 2019

Shockingly, after the election has been won, and the governor sworn in, Mr. Oraye tendered his resignation letter, thanking the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve under him, in ensuring that their state never became a conquered territory. My life is now in danger. Too many plans by soldiers to harm me have been intercepted. You the Nigerian people must know. I didn’t set out to fight the @HQNigerianArmy. What we are fighting for and will continue to fight for is the respect of the rule of law and democracy.— Oraye St. Franklyn (@SaintOraye) March 9, 2019
