Dead body of a six year old boy who's identified as Treasure Akinsohun was allegedly found in an auntie's neighbor's freezer in Ketu Alapere area of Lagos.
According to reports, the tragic incident occurred when Treasure's mother, Eunice Akinsohun sent him to her younger sister's house in Ketu to spend Easter holidays.
As the victim was playing with other kids in his auntie's compound, he suddenly went missing.
They later found his lifeless body inside a freezer, at Orisigun street, about five streets apart from her auntie's street.
Recanting how it happened, the aggrieved mother, Eunice Akinsohun said that when she noticed that her son was not among other kids playing in the compound, she asked them his way about, which the kids cannot give proper account of. She went in search of his son, to no avail.
She later went to the nearest police station to make a report about her missing son.
“I also called my husband on the phone to inform him of the development. “Before I got back home, a crowd had gathered at my sister’s house at Alapere to help in the search for my son. Throughout that day we couldn’t locate the exact place where he was. When my husband eventually arrived, he also tried his best with my sister’s husband and some elders in the community. He was still not found. That was how we went to back to Ikorodu that night with tears and anguish.” she told New Telegraph.
She also said that she and her husband were heading back to Ikorodu, where they live, when they received a shocking phone call, that their son was found inside someone's freezer at Orisigun street.
“Immediately I saw the corpse of my son, I fainted. I was later revived at the hospital. “What surprised me was how my son got into a freezer at another Lagos CP, Mu’azu street.
I still don’t understand how he got into the freezer as I speak with you. But it is left for the police to investigate.”
On the other hand, the grieving father, Ojo Akinsohun, said that he was getting ready to go out when he received a phone call from his wife, stating that their son is missing.
Confirming the incident, Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Bola Elkana said that the body of the victim has been deposited in a mortuary.
