Video: Policeman destroys student's phone for being too expensive

Police indiscriminate brutality against  Nigerians, whom they are supposed to be guarding is becoming increasingly worrisome.

A week ago, a man, identified as Kolade Johnson was shot dead, by men of SARS in Lagos state, with police claiming that they suspected him to be a criminal, because he is carrying dreadlocks.

Yet an unidentified policeman, was spotted in a viral video, harassing and threatening a Delsu student, after destroying his iPhone.

According to an eye witness, the incident occurred at Okpe, Delta state, after a bus conveying passengers were stopped for a normal stop and search.

The normal routine was taken too further, as the policeman started searching passenger's phone, which he found one of them using an iPhone.

The policeman who claimed the student was into something illegal, because he owns an iPhone, told the passengers that this is his 14 years in service, and he can't still afford an iPhone, which cost as much as N200,000.

As other passengers stopped the policeman from taking the boy away, he angrily smashed his phone on the ground.

Watch the video below;

Policeman destroys DELSU student’s phone for being too “expensive” . . There was confusion, yesterday, in Okpe, Delta State, as an aggrieved policeman destroyed the phone of a Delta State University student, for being too expensive for his level. . . The bus conveying the students had been stopped for a normal stop and search operation, but he extended the search to the phones of the passengers, only to see one of them using an iPhone. . . The visibly angry officer then asked him for the cost of the phone, to which the student replied by saying it costs N200k, prompting the officer to retort that despite being in service for close to 14 years, he can’t still afford such, meaning that the boy is into something illegal. . . The matter dragged for a very long time and the students were prevented from proceeding on the trip with the other passengers. The highlight of the confrontation was, however, when the officer angrily slapped the boy and smashed his phone on the ground. 📹: @ceo_zinorapheal

Lies! This man died since 2012- LEDAP

News circulated last week about one Mr Olatunji Olaide, who was imprisoned for 24 years, for a crime he never committed, by the leader of the Joint Legal action Aids(JLAA), Kinsley Ughe. Well an NGO, Legal Defence And Assistance Project (LEDAP), has refuted the claim, revealing that Mr Olaide died in 2012, shortly after he was released, and that no one should make any cash donation on his behalf. They have these to say; Our attention has been drawn to the fraudulent reports circulating on social media platforms requesting for cash donations from the members of the public to assist Olatunji Olaide who spent twenty four years in prison for an offence he never committed. We were also notified that one Mr. Kingsley Ughe, the Chief Lawyer of Joint Legal Action Aid claimed to have represented Mr. Olatunji Olaide at the Court of Appeal on his conviction for murder. This information is a gross misrepresentation of facts. Late Olatunji Olaide was convicted by Honourable Justice A. O....

Naija2dcore Newspaper review of June 7

In our today's mainstream Nigeria newspaper review of Friday, June 7, we are going to focus on the suspension of AIT/Raypower, Emir Sanusi's misappropriation of N3.4b, Goje Lawal's endorsement, Battle of the Deputy Senate's seat and many more. PDP, NGE, Others bash FG, as NBC suspends AIT/Raypower.   In all honesty, every reasonable Nigerian should be worried that this is happening in a democracy. It is more like there is an attempt to shackle the media, from what we are seeing. Today it is AIT, tomorrow you don't know who will be next. I just also want to hope that the president is not aware of how this started, and that he will intervene. Perhaps this is just the action of an overzealous head of government agency. Somebody who is a journalist. For crying out loud, Lanre Modibo Kawu has spent a better part of his career as a broadcast journalist on radio, and also a columnist on so many news papers, before getting this appointment. And he used to be...
