Oshiomole risks sacked

National Chairman  of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomohle, is locking horn with APC stakeholders, who perceive him as being responsible for the misfortune in their party.

Oshiomohle as the former president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), is known for his activism, and he used to talking tough. It is believed in some quarters that Oshiomohle haven ruled for eight years as Edo state governor, is yet to learn the art of diplomacy. They believe that he is yet to know that there is a clear cut difference between activism and collectivism, which is the nub of being a political leader.

In fact, they are alleging that he was the reason for the formation of N-PDP in APC.

You'll also recall the role Mr Oshiomohle played in the emergence of some certain candidates in the last APC primary election, across the country.

The APC chairman was alleged to have worked against anointed candidates of some governors, which made them bent on removing him.

Although the elections has come and gone, aggrieved former governors, senator Ibikunle Amosun, whose preferred candidate, Adekunle Akinlade, was dropped for Dapo Abiodu, and former governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, whose preferred successor doubles as  his son-in-law, was also changed to Hope Uzodimma, may be working with the fifth columnist to remove Mr Oshiomohle.

It usually assumed also that the APC chairman is having a rosy relationship with the presidency, but his statement after he threatened to sack the minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige, describing president Mohammed Buhari as a weak president who condones indiscipline from his cabinet members, did not go well with the president.

According to a source "the President was not happy with the APC chairman's comment, because it portrayed him as inefficient." This can be perceived by subsequent reports that the president was not aware of Oshiomohle's grilling by the DSS, and gave the body a go ahead.

North East APC Calling for         Oshiomohle's Sack

The North East youth wing of the APC, through it's secretary Abubakar Maigari alleged that Mr Oshiomohle created confusion which led to the loss of some states to the main opposition party PDP in the just concluded 2019 general elections.

According to Maigari “Several members of the ruling party have been lost to the opposition since Oshiomhole became APC National Chairman on June 23, 2018, yet, the looming 9th National Assembly leadership election crisis may threaten the corporate existence of the ruling party. Oshiomhole is now akin to a bull in a China warehouse that has to be guided and shown out quickly, otherwise in less than a year from now, APC shall be confined to the dustbin of history.

“Barely a month after Oshiomhole assumed the APC national chairmanship, 15 senators and 37 House of Representatives members decamped, mostly to the PDP on Tuesday July 24, 2018, just as Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara followed suit later.

‘’Oshiomhole may wish to say it was not his making, but politics is about making creative interventions by muddling through and not reaching out with unguided statements drawn from crass and ghetto mentality. “Apart from the lawmakers, governors of Benue, Sokoto and Kwara states announced their defections also from the APC to PDP under his watch.

‘’Through Oshiomhole’s pronouncements and actions, Zamfara and Imo governorship crisis were fomented. At the end of the day, APC lost governorship seats in Bauchi, Adamawa, Imo, Oyo, Benue, Sokoto and with court decisions, also in Zamfara and Osun states. ‘’Senator Ndume and Senator Omo-Agege were separately suspended for 90 legislative days in the defence of APC and Buhari administration policy, yet Oshiomhole wants those who have been hand in gloves and partner with senate leadership to sabotaging Buhari’s government be rewarded.”

On Monday, 27 May, 2019, the deputy national chairman of the APC (North), Lawan Shaibu wrote a letter to Mr Oshiomohle, accusing him of lacking the requisite experience to run a political party.

In the letter sent to the national chairman by Mr Lawan, he stated that "it's fortune and misfortune, time to act! He also said that "in advanced democracies people who fail to add value or build over and above what they met on assumption of duty always show civilised examples by honourably resign. "it is my honest opinion that your ability to ensure this party flourish is deficient as you lack the necessary composure and you also don't possess the capabilities and requisite experience to run a political party."

Meddling in Kogi States November     election

The Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello may be unconnected in the plans to oust Mr Oshiomohle, over an allegation that the Chairman plans to refuse the governor second term ticket as the November election draws closer.

You'll recall that some aggrieved Kogi state APC members protested that the APC through it's national chairman is hatching plans to deny their governor second term ticket. Warning Mr Oshiomohle to tread with caution over his decision.

According to one of the protesters "We are protesting because we don’t want the politics of Kogi to be determined by some outsiders who are not even residents in Kogi. Even before the primary, we are already getting feelers that Governor Bello would be denied the party’s ticket. That is what we don’t want”. “If the party wants direct primary in Kogi, we are okay by it. If it is by delegates voting, we are also comfortable with it. If Yahaya Bello lost in a free and fair primary, we have no problem with that. After all, he didn’t win the primary in 2015 but God ordained him as the governor.”

Although the governor through his Chief Press secretary, Onogwu Mohammed, denied that he is aware of any plot against him, stating that "We are not aware of that. Since they are not going for a government function, we cannot be in the picture. If it has to do with the party, then it is the party people that will be in the best position to explain, not the state government."

He also stated that he is busy with the affairs of his state, since he still has months to his election.

Lies! This man died since 2012- LEDAP

News circulated last week about one Mr Olatunji Olaide, who was imprisoned for 24 years, for a crime he never committed, by the leader of the Joint Legal action Aids(JLAA), Kinsley Ughe. Well an NGO, Legal Defence And Assistance Project (LEDAP), has refuted the claim, revealing that Mr Olaide died in 2012, shortly after he was released, and that no one should make any cash donation on his behalf. They have these to say; Our attention has been drawn to the fraudulent reports circulating on social media platforms requesting for cash donations from the members of the public to assist Olatunji Olaide who spent twenty four years in prison for an offence he never committed. We were also notified that one Mr. Kingsley Ughe, the Chief Lawyer of Joint Legal Action Aid claimed to have represented Mr. Olatunji Olaide at the Court of Appeal on his conviction for murder. This information is a gross misrepresentation of facts. Late Olatunji Olaide was convicted by Honourable Justice A. O....

Naija2dcore Newspaper review of June 7

In our today's mainstream Nigeria newspaper review of Friday, June 7, we are going to focus on the suspension of AIT/Raypower, Emir Sanusi's misappropriation of N3.4b, Goje Lawal's endorsement, Battle of the Deputy Senate's seat and many more. PDP, NGE, Others bash FG, as NBC suspends AIT/Raypower.   In all honesty, every reasonable Nigerian should be worried that this is happening in a democracy. It is more like there is an attempt to shackle the media, from what we are seeing. Today it is AIT, tomorrow you don't know who will be next. I just also want to hope that the president is not aware of how this started, and that he will intervene. Perhaps this is just the action of an overzealous head of government agency. Somebody who is a journalist. For crying out loud, Lanre Modibo Kawu has spent a better part of his career as a broadcast journalist on radio, and also a columnist on so many news papers, before getting this appointment. And he used to be...
